Veterans Day in Huntsville is a very important day of observance.  Post 237 packed the day with activities and welcomed Veterans from the surrounding area to celebrate with us.

Glen Vela and Gerry Frank have been working for months getting pictures, flags and memorabilia hung and arranged in the ballroom.  Glen also took on the daunting job of clearing and storing the collection of items from the ballroom stage.

Channa O’Keefe and the bartenders sold over $4000 in raffle tickets for the Veterans Day Party Baskets. The drawing was held in the Social Quarters at 4PM.

Carl Conley, Curtis McKeithen, Joe Norman, Martha Hall, and Channa prepared and cooked all of the delicious food. Curtis  brought his mobile BBQ grill.

Auxiliary Members Peggy Steeleman, Sherry Schroen, Joyce Hampton, Christie Paone, Juanita McJunkins, Martha Landers, and Michele Kinney helped decorate the ballroom and provided delicious desserts.

The float trailer was provided by Elwin Warren. It was decorated by Glen, Channa, and Tom Paone.

CeVin Barnes, Billy Heatherly, Mary McCoy, Steve Bowling, Michael and Michele Kinney, Channa O’Keefe are a few of our Post members who participated in the parade. Post 237 Honor Guard members Earl Hokanson, John Carson, Ted Carson, Teng Ooi took turns riding and walking.

Motorcycle riders from CVMA Chapter 28-2 rode with Post 237 in the parade.

The Ballroom, Social Quarters, and parking lot were full during the celebration. Thanks to all who volunteered and participated in this great event!
