YOUR TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS FOR 2023
WILL SUPPORT YOUR POST 237 HONOR GUARD
The Huntsville American Legion Post 237 and Post 229 Honor Guard provides military funeral services for area military veterans. From June 2021 through March, 2022, your Post Honor Guard, consisting of volunteers, has provided this service to more than ninety families. In addition, the Honor Guard performs flag ceremonies for various civic affairs, such as Memorial Day, and other requested services. These services are provided at no charge.
The annual operating costs (transportation, vehicle maintenance, and insurance, etc.) is approximately $5,000 per year. In addition the Honor Guard Van is over 15 years old and in poor repair and needs to be replaced with a newer model.
Tax deductible donations can be mailed to Alabama American Legion Post 237, P.O. Box 1176, Huntsville, AL 35807 or dropped off at the Post. Please note on the check or the envelope that the donation is intended for the Honor Guard. The Post 237 Honor Guard is now classified as a 501C3 organization and its official name is The American Legion - Alabama Post 237 - Honor Guard.
